Friday Favorites: Popular Pins to SJP's Favorite Things

Happy Friday, friends!

It's been a while since I've had time to compile a Friday Favorites post so I'm excited to have one to share today! I'm changing it up a little bit this week by sharing what are not only my favorite things but also the favorite things among my Pinterest followers (you can follow me, too!). These are the 3 most popular pins (i.e. most repinned and liked images) from the past fews weeks.

Favorite Wedding Dress

This gorgeous, voluminous ball gown is from Le Grand Wedding bridal house (website). It has been repinned over 1,000 times and liked almost 200 times from my pin alone!

Favorite Invitations

These stunning invitations are the work of Kristina at Lovely Morning. I love the elegant black and white theme with a blind (i.e. no color letterpress) honeycomb pattern on the invite and matching honeycomb envelope liner. And who can resist the custom monogram tag and ribbon tying it all together? Apparently neither me or 1,000 other Pinners!

Favorite Interview - Sarah Jessica Parker's Favorite Things

Ok, one more bonus Favorite from your truly. It's not from the top Pins list, but it does follow the theme of favorites--Sarah Jessica Parker's Favorite things! I just came across it today and instantly fell in love with it. It's a 5-minute interview by Vogue. Everything from her stylish home and her casual yet luxurious outfit to her delightful answers (she and I share the same fav pizza toppings and fav color!!) just brightened my day! I hope it brightened yours as well.

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!

Spring is in Bloom!

Happy Spring everyone!

True, it has been spring, officially, for almost a month now, but signs of it have on just started to show.  The cherry blossoms and daffodils were in bloom this past weekend, and to me, those are the only signs I need to know that spring is here!

Last year I celebrated spring in three ways.  First, I took a stroll down to the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC after work one day to see the cherry blossoms.  Despite the crowds and traffic, I had a marvelous time admiring the trees in the late afternoon sun.  (It's the best way to shake off the winter blues!)  Second, I visited Burnside Farms in Virginia to pick tulips.  I went once with my best friend and once with my mom.  Some of the tulips that I planted in my yard reemerged this year -- though only to be eaten by deer!  And third, I rediscovered the heartwarming tale of The Secret Garden.  All three are great reminders that there is a lot of beauty in the world, and you must take time to find it.

This year, I am celebrating spring in a slightly different form.  While this still means lots of flowers, I am focusing on flowers in spring-themed weddings!  So tune in for all the excitement!

Friday Favorites: Blush Pink for Valentine's Day

Happy Friday, everyone!

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, everywhere I go I see pink and red decorations popping up.  I started imagining what shade of pink would go best with a wedding: hot pink? baby pink?  Red could be a good look, but for me, a blush pink really takes my breath away.

Favorite Gown: Reem Acra, blush lace

I know colored wedding dresses are not for everyone, but I find them very chic.  This Reem Acra dress is a fine example.

Favorite Escort Cards: Chipboard Pockets with Grommets

Ok, so there's no pink in here.  Not everything can be pink, or the wedding will look like a cotton candy world.  So to balance out the blush pink, I think some neutral browns and antique gold would look nice.  Plus, I like these pockets because they remind me of tiny Valentine's Day notes.  Created by Papel Paper & Press.
